Township extends local state of emergency, closure of buildings to the public

In a continued effort to protect the health of our staff and residents, we have decided to extend the Township's local state of emergency and maintain the closure of all Township buildings and facilities to the public through April 30th.

We will continue to monitor and report updates to our residents as they become available as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve.

During the closure, all non-essential services will be suspended. All essential services, including but not limited to fire, emergency and wastewater management will remain in operation. Please be assured that Delhi Township continues to operate to the extent feasible and permitted. However, Gov. Whitmer’s executive order restricts what activities can be conducted at this time and your understanding is greatly appreciated.

The Township is unable to issue any non-emergency/non-essential building permits during this time. All previously approved recreational burning permits have been automatically extended until June 1st by the Delhi Township Fire Chief.

Staff will continue to primarily work remotely. When in the office, social distancing and increased cleaning will be implemented.

If residents have questions or concerns during this time, please email TempClosure@delhitownship.com. As usual, residents should call 911 for emergencies.

2020 Census

Have you completed your 2020 Census form?

The outbreak of COVID-19 reinforces the critical importance of completing the 2020 Census to support our public health and disease prevention programs.

Federal tax dollars allocated based on the census count support Medicaid, Medicare, SCHIP and health care centers and determine how much federal funding is allotted to our community and state for our schools, infrastructure and public safety.

It’s never been more convenient to participate in the census. You can fill out you form by regular mail, phone and – for the first time – online at 2020census.gov.

It is our job to make sure Delhi Township has an accurate and complete count and receives the critical funding our community relies on.

It takes 10 minutes or less to complete the form. So, if you haven’t already, do your part and ‘Be Counted’.
