Store It... Don't Pour It!
Please Help Save our Sewers from the Beast of Grease!
A very common cause of sewer backups in Delhi Charter Township is pipes blocked by grease. Sewer backups and overflows can damage home interiors, cause health hazards, and threaten the environment. No one wants to experience a backup but everyone can help. For household cooking greases and oils remember: Store it... Don't Pour it!
How to Recycle
The Delhi Charter Township Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW or wastewater treatment plant) is now accepting all household cooking greases and oils. You can even pick up a free grease container at the POTW or the Township Treasurer's Office. Simply call the POTW during business hours (7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday) and let us know when you will arrive.
We will greet you at the gate to take your grease. For your convenience, a 24-hour drop box is available at 5961 McCue Road outside the gate for household cooking grease and oil in disposable containers. Grease and oil will be recycled into products like bio-diesel, pet food, or cosmetics.
